Biography

John Pretorius

How do you distil your life story and raison d’etre using rudimentary symbols, otherwise known as words, to chronicle your memories, relationships and what you care about in a sensible manner?  Maybe the answer to this question is 42 i.e. what question(s) will lead to the most accurate reflection of a person’s life and what they value?

What is your origin?
John was born at the tail end of generation X on the southern tip of a rock where the Southern Atlantic and Indian Ocean meet, a magical place, Africa, Southern Africa. This however only describes his spacetime inception, he furthermore believes his true origin is of another world. This belief is grounded on one of the earliest traditions taking us back to the first of our kind.

What is the most influential experience(s) that shaped you as a person?
How do you answer such a question? What conscious and unconscious processes influenced your life pattern, the totality of who you are at present? There was a moment, as a young man of twenty, that he was born a second time. This was a spiritual birth where he transitioned from darkness into light, not by his own accord, but by the grace of God alone. Apart from this decisive moment in his life, the day he met his wife and the life they share, shaped him to be the person he is today.

What is most precious to you?
Apart from the obvious, the body of Christ is very dear to his heart. When the Spirit of God moves in revival power enabling and building the living stones into a holy temple as a witness of truth and light to this world. Sharing the hope that is within us with everyone who thirst in our modern day and time. How will you judge someone who has discovered a cure for mortality, and then keeps it to him or herself?

How do you pay for your food?
John has been a product owner, software developer and servant leader in a career spanning twenty+ years in software development. His true passion is building high performance teams that thrives despite anything you can throw at them.

What moves you as person?
Reading, listening to podcasts and seminal discussions including biographies of inspirational people, philosophy, science, technology, psychology, consciousness, theology, mythology, basically any classification of ideas that try to make sense of our reality and truth. He hopes CoreIdeas can grow into a tree of light at the dawn of this age, for both the body of Christ and anyone wandering and honestly seeking after the meaning of it all.
